“Read” pressures are a great way to use the offense’s protection scheme against it. Whether it is Big-on-Big, Slide, or a variation of each, reading how the offense pass blocks allows the defense to “option” the offense. Equal to how offenses use read or option plays to make defenders wrong, the defense can do the same thing against their counterparts.
